Angels Team Leader Czech Republic, Slovak, Poland and Hungary

Robert is team leader for Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary. He was appointed to this position after three years as an Angels consultant in the Czech Republic, during which he was also tasked with co-ordinating the QASC Europe Project and the launch of the Angels EMS Awards.

Driven be curiosity from an early age, Robert studied Genetics Technologies in Slovakia, then continued his scientific career in Cell and Developmental Biology at Charles University in Prague where he focused on meiosis – cell division in sexually reproducing organisms that reduces the number of chromosomes in reproductive cells.

A developing interest in teamwork and communication lead to a career switch from science to healthcare. He joined the Angels Initiative in 2018, with a clear mission to improve stroke care. As an Angels consultant in the Czech Republic he worked closely with healthcare professionals, including physicians, scientific societies, and key opinion leaders.

His promotion to the international role of Angels team leader makes him responsible for the effective delivery of objectives and for providing leadership and role modeling to the team of consultants working in Central Europe.

He says, “Working with an experienced international team and country-based challenges grows my leadership skills and broadens my horizons and ability to look at the same situation from a different angle. Mentorship of a motivated team of stroke consultants in multiple countries allows me to see the growth of people in my team, improve stroke care and give patients in Central Europe a second chance at life.”
